pictures in blog posts

is there a better/easier way to incorporate pictures and text into a blog post? It has taken me days to sort out the best layout for a post, only for me to resort to keeping the pictures centered and alternate between text and photo. Is this because of the template I’m using (Radcliffe)? thanks
my blog is wordstoofast.wordpress.com

This is not an answer to you question but I did a forum search for this same subject and what came up seemed much more complicated and perhaps even unrelated; so I posted virtually the same question today.
I plan on looking at your blog to see if I can figure out if your problem is similar to mine.
If I wasn’t familiar with programs that allow one to insert an image and at times center it and or change size from with-in the program then I wouldn’t know that such a possibility exist.
You question has been around for a week without any replies. In a way I understand why so many companies use forums but I have a few idea’s of how to eliminate time consuming chats and phone calls but at the same time expedite answers.
Now I need to figure out if this is something to post here or to post on my site.
May you find your answer soon and if you do and don’t mind please let me know.

re: image alignment
The alignment icons in the WordPress editor are for aligning text; they are not for aligning images. They are used to achieve wrapping text around images on either the right or left-hand side, or to display an image that’s centered without text on either side of it.Align-left means position left, with the rest of the content wrapping around the right side of the image.
Align-right means position right, with the rest of the content wrapping around the left side of the image.
Align-center means position center, with no wrap-around (= the rest of the content below the image).
If the text beside the images does not occupy the same amount of space that the image beside it does then the text wrapping will continue and the images and text that follow will have a staggered appearance.
To prevent the staggered effect what you do is insert the following snippet of code into the Text (HTML) editor after each image/text pair:
