Pictures in my Library

How do I use the photos I have uploaded which end up in my Library? I have 3 headers there and every time I want to change headers, my only option is to upload.

Hi. Upload them once under Appearance > Header and you will be able to choose them next time from that same place. Once you have uploaded more than one header image there, you’ll even be able to have a random header image displayed.
(These are new features, introduced a couple of months ago).

When you change themes, uploading new header images of the correct dimisnsions for the theme is required,unless you change back to a theme you previously used. In that case, the headers you previously used will be available unless you deleted them from your Media library. Do be aware that each theme does have specific header dimensions and unless one prepares the headers images offline by optimizing it and presizing them to those dimensions prior to uploading then image quality is lost.
