Pictures Not Aligned Properly In Authors Widget
-
I’m using the Mistylook theme, and I have an Author widget in the sidebar that isn’t aligning the pictures properly (the sidebar is at the bottom of the page, which I’m also trying to rectify). Any suggestions on trying to make the pictures align in an orderly fashion down the page instead of haphazardly staggered?

We can’t help you without a link to your blog. The website linked to your name is, presumably, not your blog unless your name is Sumner Redstone or something. Please provide that link so we can see the problem.

Hi, has there been any further development with this? I’ve got the same problem with the “Freshy” theme but with admittedly less authors!
Cheers,

Easy… you need to be putting breaks, soft returns or a full paragraph stop between each element. For the design I think you’re both aiming for —
name:photo
name:photo
name:photo
you would need the text html followed by the photo html (all aligned left) then either a paragraph break (/ p) if you want some space between elements, or a soft return (br) if you want the photos to touch. So…text:photo(/ p)
text:photo(/ p)
or…
text:photo(br)
text:photo(br)Ideally the photo should be close to the size limit of the sidebar, I think Mistylook is 200px and Freshy is 220px, design-wise it looks cleaner with the text under a nicely sized photo.
Hope this helps…

@ Featherseed, the author’s section is a widget, it’s not coding which a blogger configures. :)

Thx Featherseeds… it would be nice if it just aligned automatically in the widget… it’s a pain in the butt when you have 40-plus authors, as I do…

There has to be a way to address this. The author alignment looks ridiculous. Are we sure there are no suggestions? Did someone actually build the Authors widget to function this poorly? Thanks!
