Pictures Not Showing Up

I am having a problem with pictures not showing up in my posts. I keep my posts tucked behind a “Read More” line to keep my readers from having to wait for tons of pics loading to the front page, and I admit my posts are pretty picture intensive– 20-30 per post. But before today that has not been a problem– everything always loaded, and others tell me that the pics have always loaded for them when they visit as well.
Today I noticed that less than half are loading, with the rest looking as if they are timing out. I have cleared the cache and all the Explorer stuff, rebooted, etc., but nothing helps. And as recently as yesterday everything was loading fine.

Any advice would be great, even if it is only a tip that the servers may be slow, etc.

Update:
Everything is loading ok now. The problem passed as mysteriously as it came!
When WordPress sneezes, the blogosphere catches a cold!

That was kinda what I suspected as well. Now I know not to get uptight when it happens in the future, or even better, to reassure fellow newbies here when it does. Those of us who are new to this tend to think the worst when something unexpected happens!

It doesn’t happen often, and when if and when it does, it is typically corrected quite quickly.

My pictures are not showing up in my flickr widget. Is there something I may have done wrong? I just started the blog.

Did you see this support document on the flickr widget http://support.wordpress.com/widgets/flickr-widget/ ?
In my experience, it takes 10 or 15 minutes or more most of the time for the images to show up here – sometimes longer depending on server loads here and at flickr.
