Pictures not there

Hello, when I look in my media files all I have are blank squares and the file numbers i.e.: DSCN0619 . This has happened with ALL my pictures, how do I fix this?

Hi,
Do you mean in the media library? I see many images on in the posts on your front page. All seem to be working properly. If you are seeing blank squares with or without numbers in the media library, this might indicate slow loading. Large images, and particularly a lot of large images, might result in slow loading of the images in the media library. You might try switching to the list view in the library to see if they load faster in that mode.
The first image I checked on your front page (purse) is 2.5 MB in size. The second (Yum) is 2.6 MB. Those are pretty large. You might consider reducing the images dimensions before loading them to your media library. See the Image Optimization support page for suggestions.

Hi Thank you for responding. Yes the pictures are on the pages, but in the library there is just the blank squares like you said. I tried list view too. I tried yesterday to upload a couple more images to a new post and they came up the same way, nothing but blank squares in both the library and the post page. I’ve never had this problem before, yes it has been ages since I posted, but before no problem at all. I’m not sure how to make the pictures smaller, do you mean dimension size (cropping) or bite size. I don’t know how to reduce the bite size. Thanks again. I’ll keep my fingers crossed :D

Hey, guess what! This morning I thought I’d just take another look at my site and see what’s up and for whatever reason all the photos are back! Thanks for your help anyway. I’ll just keep holding my breath and hope this doesn’t happen again and get me all flustered again.

You’re welcome. : ) It may have been a temporary browser issue. Clearing the browser cache should be done periodically. Less frequently, updating the browser will be necessary. Glad you got things back to normal while sleeping. Ah, the benefits of a good night’s sleep!
