Pictures on a starting page

Hi. I’m using Fontfolio theme for my blog which is actually a gallery. And I would like to ask: how I can decide which picture of each post goes to the main page. Now I feel that the choice is automatic and I don’t like it because then the combination of pictures at the main page is random and not always looks nice. And also, sometimes even after I removed some pictures from the post, its still shown on the main page as if it would still represent the post. I will be grateful for your help…

  • Hi there – To control which one is shown on the front page, set the desired photo as a “featured image.” Instructions for how to do this are here:
    Featured Images

    Hi! Thanks a lot! :)

My problem is similar, but after I have set the featured image, SOMETIMES it fills the space provided and other times it does not. I cannot figure out what is different and why it only does it sometimes. I have a bunch of photos on the home page that look great and then a few that are smaller – PLEASE HELP!

Every theme that has featured images has set dimensions for them. Making sure the dimensions are correct is critical to their display. Scroll down to “Featured Images” in the relevant theme description http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/fontfolio/

  • Connie, if making sure the images are the correct size doesn’t fix this, let me know. Currently, it looks like all the featured images you have set are displaying properly.

yes, thank you for your response. I did get them all to work, the only difference I could figure out was that the ones that were showing up smaller were ones that I had uploaded together instead of one at a time. I cannot see why that would make a difference, but I deleted them and then reloaded them, one at a time, and they were full size. Weird, but alls well that ends well I guess.

  • Hmm, not sure why that would be. But at least you found a workaround! Let us know if you need anything else.
