Pictures on front page have all cropped bizarrely Autofocus theme
-
This page looked great up until just recently. Each picture had a rollover description that appeared along the bottom of the photo, but somehow the photos have all been cropped and the descriptions are now gone!
I have the upgrade and had customized it to remove the time stamps. Did something just change on this theme? How can I get it back to what it was without redoing the whole thing?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Regarding the problem you described in the post – the blog you linked to is set to private and so I am unable to see exactly what it is your are describing.
If you wish for forum volunteers to be able to view the problem you’ve described, you will have to firstly change your privacy settings. You can find out more on privacy settings and how to change them here – http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/.

Same thing has happened in my AutoFocus theme blog; all of a sudden the pics on the homepage have changed. They look like they’ve been cropped and are completely out of synch. Grateful for any insight.

TIP: Whenever a theme goes wonky go immediately to the live demo site for the theme and see if it’s wonky there too or not. Why? Because all blogs wearing the same them use the same underlying template at WordPress.com. http://autofocusdemo.wordpress.com/I am seeing a normal display on both the live demo site and your blog.
Are you sure you don’t have a browser related issue?If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported. To disable see > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com please do these four things:
1. Try clearing your browser’s cache:

2. Make sure that you have third-party cookies enabled: http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
3. Try with all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily disabled.
4. Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
If it’s still happening, let us know exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/ and also post any error reports you get.

Thanks. I’m using Chrome 26, the latest version, and the pictures still display wonky. I noticed this very recently, perhaps a couple of days ago, and since others have noticed the same on their blogs I’m not sure that it’s a browser issue?

But I haven’t changed browsers over the last few days, and 48 hrs ago AutoFocus displayed fine, so I still can’t see how that’s related. Thanks for trying to to help though.

If you would like to upload Chrome 25 rather than the BETA Chrome 26 version and give it a try then please do that now.

5 days ago Chrome released Chrome 26 but it may not be stable. I do know that Firefox 19 works well. http://browsehappy.com
I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance but it’s a long weekend so I thought you might want to try another browser rather than waiting until perhaps tomorrow or Tuesday for help.

There’s another blogger reporting the same issue and I tagged that thread for Staff too. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/what-happened-to-my-posted-question-on-this-forum?replies=7

That’s great, thanks. I changed my browser and still no joy, btw. This (i.e. homepage images appaering off kilter all of a sudden) appears to be the only issue, but it’s significant enough to warrant further investigation, especially as I’m not the only blogger having this problem. Cheers.

Howdy all!
We’ve recently made a change to how post thumbnails are cropped in Autofocus. They’ll now be displayed from the center of the image (like other Featured Images) rather than from the top left as before.
As you’ve noticed, this affects how thumbnails are displayed in past posts, and it’s possible you’ve made adjustments to your thumbnails to display them “just so.”
You can always re-assign a new featured image, cropped with the new center-weighted method in mind, or if you have Custom CSS, you can use the following to adjust them back to the “old” crop:
.featured-thumbnail,
.featured-trigger {
-webkit-transform: none;
-ms-transform: none;
transform: none;
}I hope this clears things up. Cheers!

Wow. Thanks for the CSS insight and to everyone who is contributing. I did change my site to private, because it looked so awful I didn’t want to have it live. One dumb question. Where do I put that new code? Do I look through the CSS and find/replace or just add it to the top or bottom?

@jadisnyc
This is important When you alter a theme’s stylesheet, you only need to put in the Editor the modification/additions to the CSS, not the entire thing. Read this for more info: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2013/02/21/where-is-the-theme-css-and-how-do-i-edit-it/ -
Ok. I added it to the bottom of the CSS and it worked! I appreciate everyone’s help! Site is live and well again.
