So i tried… And no… :-( It doesn’t work. I don’t use the css, Is there any other and free way to make it work?
Someone? please? -
I have the same problem. This makes my site look very very bad. Thanks….. , i do not know anything about how to change it back i think you people should fix it. It is just not what was on the label in the first place. See the add for auto focus, well….. see the difference. People like me use wordpress because we are not that good on building sites ext. so you must not expect us to spend hours trying to get it to look like what it said on the box.
Please. -
Howdy @idity8 and @blayneknox! The free alternative is to go through your posts and reset any Featured Images that do not look right to better work better with the from-the-center crop.
-
Now you see you are doing it again , no , no going through and resetting,
my time is spent in ceramics your time is in making the wordpress pages you promised in the first place. I have spent ages on this problem already. I say again, not all of us are as computer efficient as you and that is why we use WordPress. This theme looked fine in the beginning that is why we all chose it. Now we have a top right hand corner of a pic and a huge grey area , if you are trying to get rid of us just tell us then we dont have to waist hours on trying to fix something we know nothing about. -
@blayneknox, i gave up… it’s an unreasonable alternative to crop each image from our previous posts as Sixhours suggested and anyway i don’t know how to do this…
what a shame! what was wrong with it as it used to be?
i guess it’s all about the money…. -
Hi there idity8, Yes, its all about the money. Just when we all have built up a fairly large site and blog, they wrangle is so you get wordpressed into the more money option.
What do we do now, do we use another theme or will that also be wrangled in the future, or is it just time to cut our losses and move on… -
Idity8, i have seen another theme, (hatch). Works good for me, if it stays that way. It does not look bad at all, it displays the thumbnails as a center crop of the original . Check it out.

I apologize if the recent changes have caused an inconvenience.
We made this change because it’s what benefits the largest number of users. It also makes featured images in Autofocus more consistent with the way featured images work in other themes.

Hello staff and members, I have just found your topic as I have been greatly perplexed and disappointed by the same issue – my blog was working perfectly and for weeks now has had no dates displaying on the ‘home’ page images and the text has defaulted. I am (was!) very content with this theme and have chosen to use it for my other blogs, and wish only that it continues to operate ‘as before’ i.e. it was looking perfect, I was proud of how it looks professionally and I knew exactly how to upload and create it… now have no idea and certainly cannot ‘go back’ and reorganise all content and am not at all happy that my readers have to experience this default, as it is not the image I would choose to diplay ‘professionally’. Other features have also changed and I can suddenly no longer select align none or centre, nor alter the size of images… these features were working very well before and I only wish to have ‘everything return to normal’. I recommend wordpress to others and do a great deal to promote this blog and ‘autofocus theme’ it is not living up to its promise – why I chose it in the first place to best represent my aesthetics. I gave up and chose another theme :-( i wish it will change again… ( I like “Autofocus” the most)

Hi Idity8, Looks ok on the surface (have always formatted images to a panorama) but used to have dated imbedded in the pics and the headline and first paragraph when moused-over…. hope you get to like your new theme… I will keep this for now even if it has defaulted and try to find a solution…

Using the CSS patch re-aligns the images but offsets the popup text.
What’s the fix for that??
Wordpress should really do better than this. I have paid for customization and other things, so why would your upgrade have to affect what we have built? Can’t WordPress write a note to give users a heads up to changes, and let us decide whether we want to incorporate them or not?? -
