Hi!
Your sidebar image should be shown above the site like this example:
Are you not seeing that on your side?
-
Yes, the sidebar image (3 little bars) is shown, but it seems to activate the menu (Android & I-pad) somehow !
http://www.vakantiehuis-noordeifel.nl is the URL.
Sometimes these bars are even invisible in W8 ! -

Those three little bars (referred to as a hamburger icon) is how your menu will display on mobile devices. When clicked, it should show a mobile version of the menu here:
The widgets in your sidebar will not be available on screens narrower than 1024px as explained in the theme documentation here (under “Slide-out widget area”):

When you’re clicking the icon, you’re seeing the menu. Is that correct?

It was my opinion that on I-pad the width is over 1024 px. But the sidebar pictures are not visisble ! Is the I-pad not wide enough ?

Hi!
The iPad screen width is just under the 1024px width limit (it is 1024px – the screen needs to be wider than 1024px). The only way to change this on the Bushwick theme would be to use Custom CSS. If you would like to go that route, could you post in the CSS customization forum here?
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization
We have some CSS pros in that forum that will be able to tell you whether this is easily accomplished via CSS.
Another option would be to switch themes. For example. Writr has a similar layout, but still leaves the widget area accessible on smaller screens:

Would that work?

We skip changing CSS, but changing to another theme is fine, although we like Bushwick’s theme.

Have you checked out the Writr theme shown here?
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/writr/
The layout is pretty similar to Bushwick!

By decrease, do you mean decrease the width of that grey part? If so, that is possible by default. The Writr theme has two default layouts – one narrow and one a bit wider. This is explained under “Wider content area” at the bottom here:
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/writr/
If you would like to decrease the width even further, you would need to use custom CSS.
