Pictures too Large and Writing Content needs moving

I know nothing about CSS, but was told someone may be able to help.

When you click on my Blogs the writing starts at the bottom right corner of the pictures leaving a huge white blank space. I’d like the Blog to start maybe 3/4th’s the way up on the right side of the picture. Also, the pictures are too large on the actual blogs. They are taking too much of the focus. The front or Home page picture sizes are fine.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You aren’t using text wrapping and that’s what’c causing this. See here please > http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#alignment

The alignment icons in the WordPress editor are for aligning text; they are not for aligning images. They are used to achieve wrapping text around images on either the right or left hand side, or to display an image that’s centered without text on either side of it.

Align-left means position left, with the rest of the content wrapping around the right side of the image.

Align-right means position right, with the rest of the content wrapping around the left side of the image.

Align-center means position center, with no wrap-around (= the rest of the content below the image).

If the text beside the images does not occupy the same amount of space that the image beside it does then the text wrapping will continue and the images and text that follow will have a staggered appearance.

To prevent the staggered effect what you do is insert the following snippet of code into the Text (HTML) editor after each image/text pair:
    <div style=”clear:both;”></div>

Hi @timrueg, I’m seeing right aligned images with text wrap on your site now. Are you happy with things or are there additional adjustments you wish to make?

How do I center several images that I want in a row? It seems I can only highlight one image at a time. Though the tab that comes up permits me to center, it staggers the other images, which is, of course, not what I want. (Btw, I’m working in visual mode. Html is Greek to me.) Help!

Hi @umandel, since the two sites associated with your username are using a different theme, and since CSS is generally theme specific, can I ask you to create a new thread in the CSS Forum and I’ll watch for it and help you out. Many thanks in advance.

I wasn’t aware that I have two sites associated with my username. And that they use different themes. Is someone else using my username? I only have one site with one theme, Twenty-twenty, I believe. Could you help me solve this. Worries me a little. I mean, I recently changed my username to a domain. But that wouldn’t give me two different themes, would it?

I meant Twenty-Ten, of course. (I guess I was still in my optometrist office.)

@umandel, this thread is about the Chronicle theme, and the CSS for it is different from what you will need, that that could confuse people looking for information on Chronicle later on, that is why I asked that you create a new thread on this. I’ll watch for it and reply as soon as I see it.

You should use a gallery for that:
