Pictures upload as Medium size by defailt

  Hello,

  I’m using the Fontfolio theme and previously my uploaded images displayed as Full automatically. Lately, the default setting is Medium, and I need to constantly go back and manually set the size to Full (as I forget). Is there anyway to set the default display size for images?

  In the past the default seemed to be whatever the previous image was inserted as, but now, no matter what I do, the default size is Medium.

  We have updated the way WordPress.com resizes your images. The update is designed to allow images to resize properly after a theme switch and it will also make it so sizes set in Media > Settings are applied to images using classes such as “size-medium” (common).

  Thanks for the response. I understand changes were made to the way WordPress resizes the image, so I guess my question is this:

  Is there a setting I can tweak to make it so the default size for my photos is ‘Large’ and not ‘Medium’ in the “Attachment Display Settings” when I’m in the “Insert Media” dialogue box? Or is it necessary to manually change the size every time I want to insert a new photograph?

  @saintpauly – You should be able to reset this by changing the image size before adding it to your post. This should set the default setting. If you add an image as “Full Size”, the next image should default to “Full Size”. I just tried this out on my side and it seems to be working. Can you try clearing your browser cache and giving this another try? Instructions can be found here:

  Thanks for your help! I think the problem stems from the fact I was using Torch Browser to post… The problem seems resolved when I use Google Chrome. Thanks again for the guidance.
