Pilcrow Content Column Width
-
I am lost on how to adjust the CSS to make the content column wider in the Pilcrow theme (3-column layout).
I don’t see a #container or #wrapper tag in the CSS file to adjust the whole page’s width. I have figured out that I can add width to .post, but that only widens it and hides the overflow; I can’t figure out how to adjust the post container.
If someone could explain how I can make the whole page wider and then how widen the loop column, I would appreciate it.

OK, first off as a web designer, I have to say this. By going 1250px wide with your site, you are leaving over 26% of web users (those still on 1024px wide resolution monitors) having to scroll horizontally to see all of your site. Horizontal scrolling is one of the top things that web users dislike the most. It is always best to keep your visitors in mind when making changes to a layout. The following image shows what someone on a 1024 x 768 monitor would see.
Top 6 monitor resolutions in use on the web:
1 — 1024×768 — 26.52%
2 — 1280×800 — 16.82%
3 — 1366×768 — 11.05%
4 — 1280×1024 — 8.81%
5 — 1440×900 — 7.44%
6 — 1680×1050 — 4.01%If you truly want to continue with this, just add this to the bottom of your CSS.
#wrapper { width: 1250px !important; } -
Thanks for the quick reply. I did figure it out by playing with fire bug shortly after leaving this post…as you saw by looking at the site. Thanks for pointing out the screen size issue; that’s something I’ll have to keep in mind.

You have a problem though. Grab the handle of your browser window and narrow it and look at what happens to the wrapper (white area) It narrows with the browser window and pulls out from under the content. The code I give above keeps that from happening.
