pinbacks within my site displaying as comments

  Everytime I like from one article to a previous one, it displays as a comment on the post. Is there anyway to stop them from showing up as comments?
  I would like to show pingbacks from others sites but not my own.

  Yes, you can stop self-pings. I don’t bother as it’s easier to approve the ones I want to display to my visitors and delete the others.

  I’ve started to receive pingbacks and read the articles posted here on the forums.

  When I clicked on the visitor’s site, it shows this at the bottom of her post:

  Related articles:

  maple almond granola clusters (vegan) (sallysbakingaddiction.com)
  Cherry-Cranberry Granola Bars (theheartyherbivore.wordpress.com)
  Granola, Yogurt & Blueberry Parfaits (cravingthis.wordpress.com)

  Mine is the last link.

  If I click approve on the comment, all I see on my post is this:

  Pingback: Strawberry Ginger Powerhouse Granola | whole food hungry

  I’d rather have actual comments than a direct link back to the visitor’s site with no explanation. Perhaps there is an advantage to this that I’m not aware of?

  There is no advantage to it approving pingbacks like that one. I just delete them.
