Pingback not showing up

Hi – I got a pingback from another blog that isn’t showing up in the Comments section of my post. The post has trackbacks and pingbacks enabled (in fact, it has a self-ping already). The link from his blog works fine (I even got a couple of referrals from it), I just never got the notification.
This isn’t a serious problem, certainly not in this case, since I follow his blog with great interest and read his post (in fact, I was a little hurt at first when I thought he hadn’t referenced me – we frequently trade refs and I considered it one of my better posts – but felt better once I discovered he had). But it’s the first time (I know about, anyway) this has happened – is there some reason, maybe a setting on his blog?
