Pingbacks
-
I received a pingback for the first time, but when I try to click on who requested it, the page cannot be found. In the place where it should show the name of the blog domain that requested it, it just shows the name of MY blog post plus some words that the requester has added (it makes it look like the requester’s blog has the same title as my blog post).
I honestly don’t know anything about pingbacks and what approving one means. Does this mean that somebody is referencing my blog? Will approving a pingback ensure that whoever reads that person’s page knows that I originally posted that blog post? Why is the person’s page “not found”?
Any help is appreciated before I approve the pingback “comment” on my post. Thanks!!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
The best way to get any information about a pingback is to click on the “History” link for it. In the case of the pingback which you mentioned, it does indeed look like the person who mentioned your article has taken their article offline. So there may not be much point is approving the pingback (other than perhaps in commemoration of your first pingback, that is!).
