Pingbacks are still not working for me though I read that supposedly they are supposed to be working. My blog is https://cybeleshineblog.wordpress.com/ My last two posts on the blog should have pingback links but they do not show up on the sites I have provided links. Is it just me or are pingbacks still not working?

when I look at the link I provided in the post for Leanne Cole it does say
http://leannecolephotography.com/2015/01/07/mm44-monochrome-madness-44/
However, my url is” https://cybeleshineblog.wordpress.com/” I don’t think I can change that.
Not sure what you are asking me to change?

In your post, if you want your pingback, try adding a link to one of your posts with out the ‘s’.

I put a link to leanne cole photography in my post- her site url is http: with no s.
The link I put on my blog does not show up as a pingback on her blog.
I heard this has something to do with the https of my address but if I’m providing the link how can I change my url which begins with https not http.
I don’t get it!!! And I have had this problem for quite a while. I thought it was resolved but apparently not. Why was my site url changed to https?

I don’t know what you mean. I can’t change the https on my url – I tried and it just goes back to https and as for changing the the https to http on the link to Leanne Cole- hers already is http so that doesn’t work at all. I don’t think I should have to change that on every link I put in if pingbacks are part of my package settings which they are.
They are working for other people so I’m totally stumped. -
I’m not asking you to change the URL. When you edit your post, find the link to your previous post. For example, edit this post:
At the bottom you put:
(connected to prev post Memories of a Button Hook Child )
If you view that via the Text Editor you will see that the link has https, please remove the ‘s’.

thanks for trying to help but it is not working.

you will see at the top I provided a link to Leanne Coles Monochrome Madness 44 http://leannecolephotography.com/2015/01/07/mm44-monochrome-madness-44/in the text editor the link does show up as “http” but if you go to the site you will not see a pingback from me there though there should be one. I checked out other blogs who put in the same link in their post as I did in mine and theirs have all shown up as pingbacks (look at the very bottom of her post)- but not mine!
So I am at my wits end with it. I don’t know why mine aren’t showing up.

PS: Gracie I found another thread from December where people were having this issue. Perhaps it has not been worked out for everyone. If others are having this same problem I wont feel so bad. I hope WP developers are continuing in this case to work on the problem. Let me know.

I see. It looks like you’re not speaking about your pingbacks, you are writing in for another site’s pingbacks. The pingbacks were fixed recently. Can you ask that site’s owner to contact support regarding his/her pingbacks if they aren’t receiving them?

well, these other sites are receiving other pingbacks – just not mine! But it doesn’t seem that anyone knows exactly why. Those kind of pingbacks often help traffic to your own site which is why I was hoping I could find out why mine aren’t showing up.

Are you asking the blog owners if they are receiving a pingback for linking to their sites? I’m a bit confused as to how you know yours aren’t showing up because it would be in the comments of the blog owner.
