Pingbacks – Daily Prompt / Daily Post

  Since 1/9/16 there seems to be an issue with pingbacks on the daily prompts – linking to the prompt used to be instant pingbacks, now it’s hours later any start to show through, and exclude those linked prior to that. Is there a change in settings for pingbacks now?

  Hi there,

  Pingbacks on WordPress.com sites always need to be approved. If there’s a delay, it’s because Daily Post staff can’t constantly be monitoring new comment notifications.

  If your pingback is missing there could be a problem, but from what I can see your last few posts did appear there as they should.

  Thanks for the reply.

  I returned to the posts and republished so as to add the links again once I noted the pingbacks had started again; or added to a comment instead.

  I noticed today’s daily post prompt had instant pingbacks, so hopefully is all sorted now!

  Hmm. In that case it might have been a temporary glitch. We didn’t receive other reports, though.

  Please let me know if it starts happening again.
