Pingbacks not working

  I have four WordPress.com blogs. Pingbacks seem to work fine on three of them. On this one, however, they don’t seem to work when I’m writing a new post on post I’ve written previously. I’ve search the support pages and the forums but can’t find a troubleshooting list to work. Please advise.

  If I am reading this right: you are trying to pingback to another post on the same blog as you are adding a new post.

  I have notice this too, that pingbacking your own blog is works inconsistently.
  maybe someone knows why.

  But what you can do for now is manuallly do it:
  add the link of the post you are pinging into the the module on the post editor that says “Send Trackback”.
  The “Send Trackback” module has a box in that you can ad links for pinging.

  at wordpress.com A pingback and trackback do the same thing (the difference being the technical means of sending the message).

  Thanks for your response. And it makes me feel better to know that someone else has noticed this problem. However, while I appreciated the workaround you suggested, I tried it but it did not work.
