Pingbacks Showing on Post / Hiding Pingbacks on Post

Hi,
I’m confused about why, when I link from a post on my blog to other posts on my blog, the pingbacks show up above the Reply box on some posts but not on others?
I really don’t like each individual pingback showing up this way, but don’t know how to hide them. Here’s an example of a post on my blog with lots of links to lots of other posts on my blog:

Would be great is there was a choice in Edit to Hide the pingback, but there isn’t. I know there’s a place in Edit Post to check whether to “Allow pingbacks on this post,” but what’s confusing to me is this: if I uncheck this box, does that then mean all the links I created within the post will go away (no longer be “Allowed”)?
The wording is confusing. I think it would be more clear if there were choices to “Show pingbacks on post” (meaning allowed pingbacks will or won’t show on the post, depending on whether you check the box or not), and “Allow pingbacks on post” (meaning that no pingbacks will be permitted at all).

Hi. Pingbacks are like comments: you can approve them or delete them the same way.

Right, but I don’t want to avoid or stop them. I just want to hide them on the post. How do I do this?

I don’t think you can “hide them”, but you can delete or not-approve them, just as you would with a comment you don’t want.

Thanx, airodyssey. But why are they showing on some posts, but not on others? What’s the determining factor for showing / not showing?
