Pingbacks without comment?
-
Is there a way to receive pingbacks via email, but not have them show up as comments?
-
If you moderate your comments as I do they all come to you as emails. Then if your do not want to post pingbacks as comments that’s your perogative. In fact there is no computer discernable difference between the two so if you do not moderate your comments they end up as comments automatically but if you don’t want them to show as comments you can delete them. However, do be aware that the equipment is not going to do this for you in case that’s what you’re thinking.

that’s strange then. I can turn “pingbacks as comments” on/off. But I still want to way to know if I get a pingback. I just don’t want them posted as comments.

Please describe clearly where you can turn pinbacks as comments on/off. I am not aware of this feature.

@tasyresearch
No sooner had my head hit the pillow and I remembered where to shut off pingbacks and trackbacks. I’m sorry I couldn’t recall that earlier. It seems that right now the only way for handling pingbacks is as comments. The forum search box has a thread re: our own pingbacks to our own blogs. I think that if you want pingbacks to be handled in another way i.e. not as comments you’re going to have to send a feedback in on this. -
