  How and where do I put the code for technorati to ping my blog? They have a code so that it does it without me manually having to do it. I just can’t figure out where to insert the code.

  I think that the blogs here ping automatically so you don’t have to do it manually.

  Yes, our blogs are set up to automatically ping but some bloggers (including drmike as recently as yesterday) claim this does not always work well for them. The advice is to check frequently and if you notice that your posts are not automatically pinging then do it manually yourself after each post you make.

  and to manually ping weblogs.com use this but substitute

  <nameofblog> and <urlofblog> with the appropriate information.

  Technorati is having issues again it appears. I have clients expressing their annoyance with them.

  But to answer the OP, Wp.com pings pinomatic which in turn pings about a dozen services. such as technorati.

  Work around is just to ping pinomatic once a day manually. I’d be doing it anyway myself.
