Pingomatic Problems?

  I know WordPress automatically pings Pingomatic, but I sometimes ping them too. Today, I keep getting a message that says that the connection’s timed out. Is anyone else experiencing this today, or should I be taking it personally? :)

  I never manually ping pingomatic. I use pingoat http://pingoat.com/

  I have noticed that Pingomatic has been very spotty. I realized this because only the WP.com blogs that ALSO use Pingoat have been showing up on Technorati regularly; the others, even if they’ve linked to me, are not being noticed by Technorati because Technorati hasn’t been pinged by Pingomatic. Usually such outages are temporary, but they have lasted up to a couple of weeks at a time, I’ve noticed.

  Ahhh, okay. Raincoaster, I’ve noticed the Technorati thing too- that’s why I was manually pinging. Timethief, I’ll try pingoat. Thank you both.
