Pinning post to top of category widget

    I’m sorry if this is a repetitive topic. I couldn’t find anything exactly like the issue I’m having.

    After trial and error with a few plugins, I finally found a plugin that would let me re-order the posts within a given category, essentially letting me pin a post to a top of a category page. While that’s nice, what I was really hoping to accomplish was to keep that particular post at the top of one of my category widgets on the front page. So while the category page honors the sort, the widget itself does not. Can someone point me to a plugin for help with this, or will I have to do some custom CSS? I just moved my site to a paid theme on Bluehost, and my appointed “web designer,” although while a skilled coder, doesn’t know what he’s doing yet. So the simpler solution, the better, please.
