Pinterest button not showing shares?

  The official Pinterest sharing button at the bottom of my posts quit showing the number of shares. When I first added it, it worked great. But then, all of a sudden one day, it quit showing the share count.
  How can I fix this?

  Hi there. Could you please re-verify your WordPress.com site at Pintrest?

  Pinterest Site Verification

  1. Log in at http://pinterest.com/ with your Pinterest account.
  2. Go to your profile and click on the pencil in the bottom-right corner of the name box.
  3. Scroll down and enter your Website address if you haven’t already.
  4. Click the Verify Website button.
  5. On the next page, click the link at the bottom to Verify with a meta tag.
  6. You will be shown an example meta tag, which you’ll need to enter on WordPress.com.
  7. Leave the verification page open and go to your blog dashboard (in a new tab/window).
  8. Open the Tools –> Available Tools Page and paste the string from the How to Verify field of the Pinterest verification page in the Pinterest Site Verification field of your blog dashboard.
  9. Click on Save Changes.
  10. Go back to the verification page and click the “Complete Verification” link.

  Hi again! Yeah, I know. It had to be verified at some point since it was working properly initially.

  However, I want to make sure they haven’t changed anything coding-wise on their end that is interfering with the way the widget is interacting with their site. That’s why I requested the re-verification, and adjustment to your Tools –> Available Tools.

  If it works, great. And if not, it gives me some more data to work from to solve the problem.

  Ok, well- I tried to go through that site verification process again. But, it will not let me “re-verify”. When I re-enter my site address, It just says “site verified” and does not give me the chose to “verify” again where I can do all the stuff with the meta tag.
  I don’t know if this helps, but i actually did not have my site verified when I first added the pinterest buttons. (when they were working). I only verified after they quit working, in hopes to fix the problem.

  Oh, I am so disappointed to hear that! :( that seems more like a step backwards than an update. I hope it will be changed back to show the count!!
