In order to claim my site on pinterest they have requested:
Paste this tag into the <head> section of your site’s index.html file
<meta name=’p:domain_verify’ content=’b70406596d1cf7fb2fa7cc3d0fc5f14f’/>But I can’t figure out how to do this or how to view my page in html.
I’m specifically looking at valkyriesjourney.wordpress.com

Hi!
You should be able to add it on this page. Open https://wordpress.com/settings/traffic and at the far end of the page, there is a section called “Site verification services”
Paste the Pinterest code there and you are good to go.
Does it clarify things for you? Feel free to get back if you have questions.

@gardentoolfinds, Pinterest changed the wording of this from Verify to Confirm, and most recently this week or so to claiming your website. However the process is the same and the place to add it to a WordPress.com hosted site is the same.
What site are you working on for this? The site in your profile no longer exists. Knowing the site address, we can better help.
