Pinterest "follow button" or "profile widget" problem

How do I add a Pinterest “follow button”. The code on the Pinterest website does not work. I also tried to add a Pinterest “Profile Widget” but also here the code does not function. Anyone can help? tnx, E.

You put the code for the Pinterest follow button in a text widget.
1. Go to this site, choose which one of the red Follow Me images you want, and copy the code for it. http://pinterest.com/about/goodies/
Generated a preview of the button to look like here:
http://business.pinterest.com/widget-builder/#do_follow_me_button
and then I took a screen shot of that button and save it.
Upload the image as a jpeg into your Media Library and next you will then add the image (with a link to your pinterest page) into a text widget.

2. Go to your widgets > Appearance > Widgets and select a text widget.http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/

3. Paste the Pinterest follow button code into the text widget, “save” the widget, “close” the widget and place it where you want it to display in your sidebar.

The instructions you gave don’t work. Here’s what I get (example with Pinterest’s infos; WordPress theme Forever):

Pinterest user URL: http://pinterest.com/pinterest/
Full Name: Pinterest
Pinterest follow button code: Pinterest
Code after saving it in text widget: Pinterest

Any thoughts?

Hi,

I just saw from another thread that WordPress doesn’t support java script code. I guess this is why it doesn’t work.

make sure to put your username and erase “USERNAME” and it worked for me! I have been working on this for a few days and pinterest’s buttons did not work for me either- but this one did!
