  It ought to be easy, but how do I add a ‘follow me on pinterest’ button?

  Hi there!

  The Follow me on Pinterest buttons that Pinterest provides won’t work on WordPress.com because they use scripts that we don’t allow for security reasons. However, you can create an image link to your Pinterest profile and add it to any of your widget areas by following these instructions:

  There are three other ways that you can integrate your Pinterest site with your WordPress.com site:

  1. You can verify your website with Pinterest! This will give you a little bit more information about the visitors who get to your blog through Pinterest:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/#pinterest-site-verification

  2. You can embed your Pinterest profile, boards, or individual pins. We have some directions on how to do this here:

  3. You can add Pinterest to your Share links at the end of your posts. This will let your users easily be able to share your posts directly to Pinterest!
