It would be super helpful to have a plug in for the pinterest “pin it” button to add onto pictures when the mouse hovers over it. Thanks!

Hi. Unfortunately I have the same problem. I do have a Pinterest button at the end of the post, but I can’t put a button onto my pictures.

Ok. So I found this Build a Save button for your site and it tels you how to add an image hover button. The only problem I have is with the last step: “Paste the code just above the closing </body> tag of each page where you want the button to show up on your site.” Call me stupid but I have no clue on were that tag is!

I would also like to add “pin it” buttons to my images. Please let me know if anyone knows how to solve this problem.

viatahandmade – i tried using Pinterest’s ‘Save a button’ code too in the html section of my posts/projects, and it didn’t seem to work for me at all. I can’t find anything in the wordpress support section either about adding ‘pin it’ hover buttons to my images – maybe wordpress doesn’t allow them?

Crisis averted! I just asked support and I have found the answer! When you go into the Sharing tab on you Stats page (in the sidebar under Configure), click on Sharing Buttons. Under Button Style select Official Buttons, and that will create the Pinterest share hover button on your pictures.

Hi folks, no need to add plugins or build buttons to add a “Pin It” button to your WordPressdotcom site images. It’s already built into the platform. :)
All you need to do is enable the official Sharing buttons, including Pinterest, and the “Pin It” button will appear when someone hovers over your site’s images.
