Pinterest Not finding my photos
-
Hi!
I am having trouble getting my photos to actually display in a Pinterest Pin.I have the Pinterest buttons and they appear to function just fine (they allow me to edit the pin / save it / etc) but once I save the pin, the link works and the info is available, but it shows a blank photo. Some of my photos work in a pin and others do not. All of my feature photos pin with no problem if i use the Share option. Tailwind is able to pin all of my photos, even the ones I am not able to manually create pins from.
I use the free / pluggin-less version of wordpress.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
once I save the pin, the link works and the info is available, but it shows a blank photo
Can you link to your a board with affected links? We’ll take a look to see what’s happening. For what it’s worth, I tried pinning an article and its photo worked for me.

The last image on this post (the one dressed up to look like a Pinterest image) is not showing once the pin is created.
here is that image as a pin. It shows only a blank photo but all the pin info.
All of my normal photos pin with no problems but the ones I have creating to be pinning images do not work.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks! When I go to the pinterest link that you’ve shared there is not an image that loads. In fact, it looks like a broken image icon being cut off in the upper left hand corner of the black half of the screen. Here’s what I’m seeing at https://www.pinterest.com/pin/118501033933634107/
Does that look the same for you? Please let me know which image from the post you expected to be included in that pin.
We don’t have any control over what Pinterest pulls from the post but we will try to figure out why that’s blank.

That is exactly what I see. If I use Tailwind to create the pin, the image shows with no problems, but using the Pin button directly from that image on my site shows what you see there. If I share to Pinterest, it defaults to the featured image and works just fine.
I attempted to use the last image from this post – the one with the text under the photo of the glasses on the table (unsure how to share a screen shot).

I’m not sure if this info will help determine what the problem is but all the images that are having trouble sticking in a pin were created in the Canva app, saved to my phone, then uploaded to my WordPress media.
Just to test my theory, I used the same Canva image, opened it in another editor app but saved with no changes and uploaded it to my media. This image pinned with no issues.
Is Canva doing something to my images that is making them incompatible with WordPress’s “Pin” button? They all seem to be PNGs and similarly sized.

Ahh. You might be on to something there. Can you reach out to Canva directly? We don’t have any access to support their product.
My suggestion is to try both routes of publishing for the next couple of posts and see if this theory holds true.
