Pinterest Pin it! Button

Yes I want a pin it button terribly. My hope is that other pinterest users will just have the pin it in their browser like I do, and will pin anyway :)

Hey, guys. I took a look at this just this morning (I keep a blog post in my spare time with instructions on adding services to Sharing) and in my testing it appears that it’s not possible to bypass the JavaScript requirement a Pin button.
I’ve dispatched an email to the Pinterest folks to ask if there is a workaround, but it appears that it won’t work without specifying an image to go with the pin, which is something you can’t do with a manual link (at least not right now).

Pinterest Pin It included with this package: http://www.designchemical.com/blog/index.php/wordpress-plugins/wordpress-plugin-slick-social-share-buttons/
Below code is good for image sharing. You can also use it for your article with a featured image but I am not sure if Pinterest users will be happy to leave the site to read an article or see a content.

Hello there,
There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and we cannot install individual plugins into them. Those found on the internet are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

After a lot of work and some test trials, I figured out a semi-easy way to insert a pin it! button into my wordpress.com blog. I wrote a post about it that gives step by step directions. Hope this helps my fellow wordpress.com-ers!

You can put the code for the Pinterest follow button in a text widget.
1. Go to this site, choose which one of the red Follow Me images you want, and copy the code for it. http://pinterest.com/about/goodies/
2. Then, go to your widgets > Appearance > Widgets and select a text widget.http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/
3. Paste the Pinterest follow button code into the text widget, “save” the widget, “close” the widget and place it where you want it to display in your sidebar.

At the moment it appears that adding a Pinterest sharing button can’t be done. Please see this earlier reply by Staff and the reason:
