  It would really be great if the pinterest plug in would be made available so we can actually add a pinterest widget

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  That is not going to happen. There are code restrictions here and that’s why. The pin it button is JavaScript and so is the Pinterest widget so they cannot be used on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. Read:

  You can go to Dashboard > Sharing please and use this guide http://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/#customize-your-services to enable a sharing icon so it will display under each post.
