Pinterest Rich Pins

I noticed on Pinterest that a wordpress.com blog had rich pins (the pins from their blog were in the rich pin format). I had thought you couldn’t do rich pins on a wordpress.com blog. Is it really possible to add rich pins?

Could you send me a link to the rich pin you saw so I can investigate further?

Thanks, actually I was able to figure it out and successfully (so far so good) got rich pins for my blog.

Please expand here on what you did and how so we know that and can share it with others.

I followed the directions listed on Pinterest’s website to install Article Rich Pins (link). When directed to paste the code on one of my blog pages between the <head> </head> tags I just pasted the code at the top of one of my blog pages (since there are no such tags on any of my pages). I then updated the page and copied the url of the page I had added code to. Then I pasted that link in the Rich Pin Validator and it told me everything was good.
Some of my pins have since started showing up as rich pins. However, not all of them are rich pins. I’m assuming that it takes a couple days for them all to switch over (I just added the code and validated it yesterday), but only time will tell if this really works. So far though, it looks good!
I plan on doing a blog post on how I secured rich pins after making sure this really is a lasting thing. Once I do that I’ll post a link here.
Let me know if my explanation isn’t clear.

Thanks for the extra info. Rich Pins aren’t officially supported as of yet, but if they are working for you providing a tutorial for other users would be great!
