Pinterest site verification fails

  After repeatedly trying to enter just the ‘meta key ‘content’ value’ on the wp-admin/tools.php page, I found that there is a similar page under Jetpack->Settings->Traffic which asks for the full HTML tag. This seems to have worked for Yandex, but when I try Pinterest I get ‘Error updating settings. Invalid parameter(s): pinterest (Status 400)’

  Despite the instructions saying to enter the full HTML tag, and the placeholder text showing the full HTML tag, what works for Pinterest is to just enter the “content” code. FYI, Yandex accepted the full HTML tag.
