Pinterest Verification Error

I’m having problems verifying my blog through Pinterest. When I follow the Pinterest verification tool steps and click ‘Complete Verification’ an error pops up saying: “Trouble verifying your domain. Please try again later.” This has happened every time I’ve tried to verify my blog and I haven’t seen anything about this problem in all my searching. TIA

Hi!

When you try to verify your site through Pinterest, you will likely receive an “Oops, we had trouble…” error message. However, if you close out of the window and refresh your Pinterest account, the site should be verified. Can you navigate to your Pinterest account page and let me know if you see a checkmark next to your site?

Still no check mark… I even tried doing the process on IE in case chrome was causing problems. Same error on both browsers. I’ve even tried clearing all the browsing data, etc on chrome and trying again – still the same error.

Can we try this one more time? I’m not sure what’s going on here. I’ve been able to verify two sites without trouble. Can you follow these steps (I’ve amended them a bit):
1. Go to the Edit Profile link, enter your domain (without the www) and click “Verify Website.”
2. Copy and paste the entire Meta key and paste it under Pinterest here (replacing your old key):
  https://orangeyoucrafty.wordpress.com/wp-admin/tools.php
3. Once you’ve done that, head back to Pinterest and click “Complete Verification.” You will receive an error message like this:

  Click “Okay.”
4. Click the “X” on the “Verify your site” window:
  http://d.pr/i/1c12y
5. Click “Save Profile”
6. Refresh the page

Jeremy, you are amazing!!! It finally worked for me too!!! Yay! I’ve been struggling with the same problem for 2 weeks now. I seriously felt like I was beating my head against the wall! I had followed all the instructions in wordpress.com support but still couldn’t get Pinterest to verify. I think your suggestion should be added to http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
The only way I found this thread was by typing different variations of the question in google. Thank you so much!!!
