Pique Theme & Cloaking issue

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi all – Has anyone face problems when using the Pique theme and cloaking redirection to a wordpress.com hosted site?

I’m using the theme with no customization whatsoever and when browsing on the URI (http://www.vincentvanasch.be) which redirects to the wordpress.com site, it renders in a weird way, and in a different way than if you’d hit the .wordpress.com directly, without the cloaking redirection mechanism.

Any help would be appreciated, as we love the theme and couldn’t find a better one for our site.

    Thanks.

  • Hi @x14santo!

It looks like you’ve set up a redirect/cloaking with your domain registrar – so your WordPress.com site is being loaded in an iframe rather than loading directly. This is also why the address bar doesn’t update when you click to different pages on your site (like the “Read More” links).

Instead, you should set up domain mapping so your site loads as expected :)

staff-loquaciousloon – Thank you for your reply. Indeed, the issue is the cloaking obviously. My question is if it’s related to the theme or not, because using other themes, I have no issue with the cloaking.

While it’s not the best way to handle redirection, this is what we work with for now. Not excluding the domain mapping option though.

It doesn’t appear theme related, no :) Apart from the usual issues caused by offsite cloaking, everything looks normal on this end!

staff-loquaciousloon – Thanks for checking, Chad. I use cloaking on another wordpress site, and it renders correctly on mobile, hence my thought that it would be theme related.
