Pique theme – Menu in Desktop vs Mobile

  • Unknown's avatar

    hi there

i have a primary menu on my pique theme static home page (panels) that has 6 items that are perfectly visible on desktop however when viewed on a mobile device for example iphone 6, only 4 of the 6 items are visible, the remaining two items are viewable only when clicking on the 3 dots.

i understand that this issue has been raised multiple times eg the below forum and the proposed solution was to decrease the font however this is not possible

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/pique-theme-menus-in-mobile-vs-desktop-views?replies=4

instead of decreasing the font size is it possible to have the menu in two lines instead of one? i have noticed that when the page initially loads for a split second all of the 6 items are actually visible however when the page fully loads, only 4 of the items are visible.

    thanks in advance

  • Hi @shenyilaihotmailcom!

The placement of the overflow menu items under the ellipsis is part of the theme’s Javascript, and not something that we can change. I’m afraid it’s a functional part of how this particular theme is designed.

Pique is a bit unique in this regard – on most themes the entire menu converts to a toggle button on mobile, but Pique does it a bit more dynamically.

If this format doesn’t work for you, a different theme may be your best option :) Here’s a list of themes that have a single-scrolling-page design:

If you have any questions about a particular theme, please ask! :)

Hi there I have a question about the grid page using Pique theme. Is there a way to make it have space for 4 grid options across the page rather than 3 in width? Thank you.

  • Hi rlmarineinc – are you referring to the panel on the front page or to the single grid page itself? It might be possible to shift a fourth sub-page over on the same row with custom CSS, but could you please start a new thread in the CSS forums if you need help with that? When you post, please provide a link to your site and clarify the above questions. Thanks!
