Pique theme – repetition of featured image as backgroung of panel page
-
Hello !
(First, sorry for my English, I’m French speaking)
I really enjoy the Pique theme so I’m testing it in order to use it as the theme of my new website : https://kouzylarsen.wordpress.com . But I noticed a problem this morning and I can’t find a solution.
This is about the featured image of the pages used in the panel.
The display is perfect on the screen of my small laptop but this is not the case on other computers with bigger screen despite the fact that the featured images are at least 1400 by 1000 pixels.
You can see the problem with this two images :
Small screen : https://kouzylarsen.files.wordpress.com/2015/12/print-screen-01.jpg
Bigger screen : https://kouzylarsen.files.wordpress.com/2015/12/print-screen-02.jpgAs you can see, the problem is not the size of the image but how it is displayed. The left part of the image is cut and put on the right side for reason unknown.
How can it be fixed ?
Thanks !
Pauline

The featured image doesn’t have the same position of the page. The image starts at the left side of the screen while the page is displayed at the center of the screen. Because of the gap, the image is repeated despite its good size.

Looking at your website, equimauves, seems like you fixed it! What did you do? Thanks for your help!

I did nothing. It depends on the size of your screen. On small screens (14-15), everything fits but not on big screens.
So maybe it’s ok on yours, but I checked again and the problem remains on big screen (mine is 23.6″) -
I has to do with resolution somehow. i’m using 13″ laptop with 1600×900(recomended setting) and image doesn’t scale well
if i change resolution to next available (1280×720) its finebeautiful theme but this is annoying

when doing some troubleshooting with chrome and messing with css
i can make background image fit when i deactivate this property.pique-panel-background {
/* background-attachment: fixed; */ -
This sets a physical boundary with you and your device. It eliminates rolling over in bed and mindlessly surfing. It’s a simple thing. It’s effective
-
Give the following a try in your custom CSS.
.pique-panel-background { background-position: 50% 0; background-repeat: repeat-y; } -
Unfortunatly i dont have possibility to do custom css :(
It would be great if designer could at least confirm if this is an issue

@thesacredpath thank you for reaching out to the designer! I love this theme and hope to make it work for my website without purchasing the premium plan. Your help is much appreciated:)

The website I’m trying to build will not scroll on the front page either.
I tried the code specified above it the tester CSS but still no luck.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

I’m having a similar problem with the Pique theme on tablet and mobile devices.
Featured images appear fine on the PC, but on tablet and mobile the image doesn’t appear correctly. A section of the bottom of the image appears first within panels followed by the top section of the image as I scroll down. In one panel on mobile I see bottom section of image followed by whole image followed by top section.
All featured images are set to 1400 x 1000 pixels as recommended.

@mountainbikevancouver, first I see that you have your domain “masked” at your registrar. We recommend domain mapping instead of masking. I notice that you have the domain mapping upgrade and then canceled it.
On your main page, you only have the image on that page, so there isn’t enough on that page to necessitate scrolling. If I shorten my browser window the scroll bar appears and I can scroll up and down.

@philhirstgardens, I see your test site with Pique. Since it is private, I can’t see it on my phone or tablet. Can you give us a link to an actual page or post where this is happening and I can use my simulator to try and figure out what is going on?
-
@philhirstgardens, it would be helpful if you could also let us know:
– what specific device you’re using (i.e. Nexus 7)
– what version of Android you’re using (i.e. Android 4.4.4 Kitkat) – visit http://whatismyandroidversion.com/ if you’re not sure
– what browser you’re using (Chrome)Once you let us know we’ll be able to troubleshoot your issue further. Thanks!
Also, if you can, can you take a screenshot and post it either to the media library on your site and let us know the name of the image, or possibly upload it to a file sharing service, it would be great.
