Pique theme – supplementary information (testimonials)

    Hi everyone,

    I’m using this theme right now and I love it, but there is something that I can’t do even if I follow the instructions at https://wordpress.com/theme/pique

    When I try adding the something that text only appears as part of the testimonial and not under the name of the person. What are exactly the steps I must follow in order to add this supplementary information?

    Hi,

    The instructions in the Pique theme guide certainly need clarification on this point. The instructions presently say:

    You may wish to display supplementary information about your testimonial author, like their job title or company. Pique can show this information with a different formatting so it’s visually distinct from the name. To make use of this, add and tags around your supplementary text in the page’s HTML editor, for example:

    Groucho Marx, Marx Brother and general mischief-maker

    Since the name of the testimonial contributor in the example is entered as the title of the testimonial, as specified previously in the theme guide, the supplementary text must also be added to the title, not necessarily with the page in HTML mode. It works if you add it in Visual mode as well.

    I’ll call for staff attention to the topic. Hopefully staff can have the instruction in the theme guide edited clarified.

    I’ve updated the guide to say:

    …tags around your supplementary text in the testimonial’s title field…
