Place header image over container? Sandbox 1.6.2
-
I am new to CSS and having been learning as I have time. I have not been able to find any posts related to “stacking” a header image above a container background. My header includes a logo and an image of a folder tab that I would like to appear just above the textured background of the container. Is that possible?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Helloe there,
If you are referring to a free blog being free hosted by wordpress.com then you are in the correct forum. If however, you are referring to a wordpress.ORG install for self hosting you are posting to the wrong support forum. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/It will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but it does not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes here at wordpress.COM.
Since there is no official Staff support for the CSS upgrade, and precious little Volunteer support, I recommend that you don’t buy the upgrade unless you have at least moderate understanding of HTML and CSS because you must be prepared to do the work on your own.
If you are considering purchasing the upgrade, you can go to Appearance > Edit CSS. There wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try before you buy.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-css/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/editing-css/If you do purchase the upgrade be sure to read this article before starting your editing > http://csswiz.wordpress.com/2009/10/15/if-you-have-the-wp-com-css-upgrade/

@timethief I have purchased the upgrade and have been reading the articles you suggested. Thanks!

@verdantly
You’re welcome. Eventually one of the two Volunteers who help with CSS will log-in, locate this thread, and help you. Best wishes with your editing. :) -
Can we have a link to your wordpress hosted blog, and ideally the URLs to the image(s) you want to use too. That would help us to help you.

Hi. So sorry I didn’t include a link (verdantly.wordpress.com)…. I know better. In the meantime, I think I have figured out a solution. Thanks!

This is an active link http://blog.verdantly.com/
I’m happy to hear you sorted this. Best wishes with your blog. -
I have 2 blogs, different subjects, when I go to Tag Surfer it only shows for one topic at both sites

The first thing to do when you posts are not found in date oder of original publication on the wordpress.COM global tags pages is to look here. > Missing posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/global-tags/#missing-postsAlso note that this thread is about CSS editing and Place header image over container? Sandbox 1.6.2.
Please do not post off-topic question into existing threads. Please search first and if you cannot find an answer then post a new thread using this link on the front of the forum. “add a new topic’ https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1

If your published posts do not appear on the wordpress.com global tags pages in oder of the date of their original publication then there is a reason for that. Staff have listed the reasons here > Missing posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/global-tags/#missing-postsI have looked at your blog. Be ware that when you use more than a combined total of 10 Categories and tags on any post it will not appear on the wordpress.com global tag pages or in the Tag surfer.
If you wish you can create a support ticket at this link on March 2nd, 2011 and when Staff return they can address your issue personally. However, if you search the forum you will find this question is frequently asked and frequently answered. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
Best wishes with your blog. :)

I think I may have figured out why your tags are not displaying. Do you have two blogs both using the iNove theme? If so do you remember this?
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/catagories-7?replies=4#post-560241 3.Do I need to show the catagories and tags on the blog page?

Feb 17, 2011, 7:39 PMYIKES! I’m so sorry that was error. I didn’t realize I had selected all that. :(
You are using the Ivove theme and you can prevent the display of authors, categories and tags.
Dashboard > Appearance > Themes > Theme OptionsScroll down to
Posts __ Show author on posts. __ Show categories on posts. __ Show tags on posts.
Disable Categories and Tags and then click “Save Changes”
Did you disable Categories and Tags on one of the blogs ie. did you disable Categories and Tags on the blog that posts are not appearing in the Tag Surfer from?

I take it someone fixed TT’s comment but but didn’t remove the modlook tag after fixing the comment ?
