Place my post in a catagory- pages-create tags?

I’ve read the help etc.. over & over and these are still very confusung; catgagories, pages and tags.
I wish to remove some posts and place them in another viewable location…
stories- song lyric etc.
Are pages where viewers can see them, after they look for a catagory?
How is this done? And how do I tag posts?Tnx

What you are proposing is generally NOT done, in fact. Let me give you some links, and always remember, when it comes to moving posts, it breaks all the incoming links to that page and drives search engines batty, so they will ignore your site.
Once you’ve got your posts properly tagged/categorized, use a Custom Menu to put links to those categories in your header http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
