Place/method to place short notes

  Is there a widget or something, besides in the normal post area, where i can write thing down, like one sentence thoughts/news?

  If you want the actual stuff to show in your sidebar, you should add text widgets. If you only want a title that would lead to such an area, add the pages widget and create a page dedicated to that.

  Text widgets, they let you have links in it? HTML-able?

  Currently using the Links widget.

  Yes, you have to code the links in, and there is a limit to what HTML you can use, but most normal stuff is allowed.
