  Hi there!

  Thanks for getting in touch. While you can purchase a domain without a plan or purchase a domain elsewhere, to have your domain be your primary domain, you need a paid plan. Otherwise, your domain will redirect to your free *.wordpress.com URL.

  I noticed you had a Starter plan purchased earlier today and cancelled it shortly thereafter. You can use your existing domain using the free domain credit – simply choose “use a domain I own” in the purchase process.
