How domain mapping works
Registering an underlying .wordpress.com URL first is required for domain mapping. That underlying URL does not have to match the domain URL when you are domain mapping.What domain mapping does is providing a seamless redirect to the very same content under the new domain URL when a person clicks the old URL .wordpress.com to the original content. I’ve had a look and the domain, pokestory.org, has not been added to any WordPress.com accounts – there’s no connection to us.
The account that you are signed in with is on the Free plan, with no history of any upgrades being made to it.
Did you receive a receipt confirmation emailed from us?

Do you have more than one username/account here? If so, is it possible that you bought the upgrade under that other account?

I do not have another account… today is when I was making my account and I decided to start with the personal plan. Is there anyway the money can be refunded so I can try to repurchase the personal plan?

There was an error registering the pokestory.org domain name that caused the upgrade to get stuck. I’ve added the upgrade to your site for you. I checked on the domain name, and it is available, so go into your account and register that domain name. It is already paid for with the plan, so all you have to do is go through the motions and enter all the information.

I’m doing the refund due to my WordPress upgrade not processing properly and I can no longer get the domain I paid for polestory.org. I tried to refund it myself but by mistake I just pressed the cancel personal plan, thinking it was the refund button.polestory.org is currently available. Would you like me to restore the Personal plan so you can try registering this domain for your site?
Or would you prefer to receive a refund rather than continue using the plan?

Sure, I’ve taken care of that for you and there is a copy of the refund receipt in your Billing History:

Refunds usually take 5-10 business days to show on your statement, so you can expect to receive the money around that time.
