  Can I start my site without purchasing a plan? I only wish to pay the registration fee for my domain.

  Hi there,

  Yes, you can register a domain without upgrading to a plan. However, to make that domain primary you’ll need a plan. This means while you’re on the Free plan your domain will redirect to your .wordpress.com or .blog subdomain address.
