plan and domain added to wrong site

    I have purchased a plan but not on the correct site. I have also registered a domain for this wrong site. Is it possible to transfer the plan and domain to the correct site? Or can i cancel the plan and buy it for the correct site and keep the domain.

    Hi there,

    We can easily transfer the plan and domain to the correct site for you.

    However, the account you’re using to post here has never bought any upgrades from us.

    What is the site you bought the upgrades for, and what is the address of the site where you want to move them? Note that we’ll need this request to come from the username that owns the upgrades.

    The site i’d like the plan and domain attached to is designisourcraft.wordpress.com

    It’s currently linked to designadvocate.co.uk on the account @gerardscrichtonhotmailcom

    Should i raise this as a separate issue under @gerardscrichtonhotmailcom? it’s the login with the plan on it.

    I see designisourcraft.wordpress.com also belonged to gerardscrichtonhotmailcom, but you transferred ownership to gerardscrichton a few hours ago. Had you waited for us to move the upgrades first, the site ownership transfer would have transferred the upgrades as well.

    As it is, there’s going to be a few more steps now :)

    First, just to make sure, you also want the upgrades transferred to the gerardscrichton account? In other words, you want them moved to a different site, and you want the ownership to change to another account?

    Please log in as the user, gerardscrichtonhotmailcom, and comment on this forum thread to confirm.

    Once you confirm I can move the Personal Plan for you. However, I cannot move the domain for you, as only the account that owns a domain has the ability to transfer ownership of the domain.

    So while logged in as gerardscrichtonhotmailcom you’ll first need to transfer ownership of your domain to gerardscrichton. Then, once you’ve completed that process, log in as gerardscrichton and you’ll be able to move the domain to the correct site in this account.

    Thanks for confirming. I’ve moved the plan to the correct site in the other account. Please make sure you re-enable automatic renewal by going to https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing, and adding a payment method to the plan under the new account. You’ll need to do the same with the domain once you’ve transferred it to the other account.

    You can now proceed with the process to transfer your domain.

    First you’ll need to add gerardscrichton as an admin on your designadvocatecouk.wordpress.com site, then transfer the domain to that account.

    Next log in as gerardscrichton, and then you can move the domain to the correct site.

    Last step, remove gerardscrichton as an admin from designadvocatecouk.wordpress.com again.
