Plan features

If I purchase a business plan and decide WordPress is not what I’m looking for after a month or so can I cancel service and have billing stop immediately or will I be stuck paying for an entire year?

Site: (email visible only to moderators and staff).
    Correct account: Yes

    See: https://wordpress.com/support/manage-purchases/
After a month in to an annual plan it would be too late for a refund (which is available within 14 days of purchase). You could just pay monthly if you think you’re likely not to stick with WordPress.com but over the course of a year paying monthly works out considerably more expensive.
Bear in mind the custom domain you choose for your site. Do you already pay for one elsewhere? Registering one here along with a plan and then cancelling would require careful thought regarding if you wanted to build a site with that domain address somewhere else or give up the domain too. (And wherever somewhere else may be I’d be surprised if it was any improvement to what you could achieve right here with a Business plan).

    Hi there!

As @themagicrobot suggests, you can choose the monthly plan to get started with. However, please review the refund policy as you won’t be able to get a refund after a month.

If you already have a domain elsewhere, you can map it to your WordPress.com site (available with any WordPress.com paid plans). However, if you don’t have a domain, note that if you register a new domain, you will not be able to cancel it and register it elsewhere right away. Domains are a bit more complicated to deal with so we’d suggest registering the domain later if you’re still trying things out.

Let us know if you have more questions.

    Regards
