plan & free domain

  Hi there,
  I just started to build a simple website for myself.
  I paid 18€ and bought the domain sukhdevprasadmishra.com, but it still shows as sukhdevprasadmishra.wordpress.com. why is that??

  Also, I only see a free plan or a 15€/month plan. Are there no cheaper plans in between??? The pro plan is far too much for me. Besides, I also have another website with wordpress which was a lot cheaper, about €40 per year. why???

  While you can purchase a domain without a plan, to have your domain be your primary domain, you need a paid plan. Otherwise, your domain will redirect to your free *.wordpress.com URL.

  We’ve recently made some changes to our plans and pricing. You can read more about this here:

  Introducing WordPress Pro: One Plan, Infinite Possibilities

  As noted in that article, we are working on further options for our plans, including as-you-need them add-ons for both plans, to give you a la carte upgrades. We don’t know when those will be added, but an upgrade to use your domain as primary will be coming. If you had a site on one of our previous plans, we don’t force you to the new plan, which is why your other site is at €40 per year.

  In the meantime, you can have your domain redirect to your free *.wordpress.com URL until those as-you-need-them options are announced.
