For personal sites, the WordPress.com Personal plan is a great starting point. It allows using a custom domain, removes WordPress.com ads, and increases the storage limit for media files. However, we have higher plans that have more features, and depending on your specific requirements, you may want to use a different plan.
For example, you mentioned you’d like to practice SEO. All WordPress.com sites can do well with SEO, but the WordPress.com Business plan enables advanced SEO tools. You can also use various SEO plugins to dig even deeper into the SEO aspect of your site. Considering that, I would recommend the WordPress.com Business plan.
