Plan required to connect custom domain?
-
Hello everybody!
I wish to switch over to WordPress from a different website hosting service but am unsure about the pricing. I want to connect my custom domain that I own with an external registrar (ultracomfy.eu).Now, I believe I have found the correct option to do that and it point me to buy the ‘Premium’ plan.
However, if I read the descriptions correctly then a ‘Personal’ plan should be enough to connect that domain, am I right? Keep in mind that WordPress.com does not host .eu domains themselves. Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi there!
Welcome to WordPress.com! :)
Yes, the lowest level plan that includes the ability to use a custom domain is the Personal Plan. However, you may want to compare the different features of each plan to see if there are other features you may need as you build your site, like needing access to the CSS editor or other items. You can compare all the plans here:
https://wordpress.com/pricing/
Note you can start with Personal and if you do decide to upgrade to Premium or another plan level at a later date, we’ll use what you’ve already paid for Personal towards the new plan.
Also, since your current site is using Ucraft, I’m not sure if they offer an export option to move your existing content to WordPress. But you can get started building your site using your free
ultracomfy.wordpress.comURL and connect your domain when you’re ready to make the switch.Let us know if you have other questions!
