Plan upgrade with a new domain

    I am planning to upgrade my site to a paid plan and as part of the paid plan i am planning to purchase a domain name for my site. I would like to know, what will happen to the traffic which is coming to my site with the existing name? Please confirm if the traffic will be automatically redirected to the new site name as i have already shared my site’s details to my existing viewers.

    Hi there!

    When you register a new domain, your old address (the .wordpress.com one) will automatically redirect to the custom domain. So, even if someone will type in your old address into the browser, they will end up on your site :).
